Wednesday 25th March
Trans people, along with our cis friends and allies, have been meeting and socialising midweek in Manchester since the late 1970s. That tradition is still going strong. Whether you’re completely new to this, a cross-dresser finding your feet, a full-time trans woman or anywhere in between, you are welcome to join us and find what works for you.
We have a well-trodden every-Wednesday schedule with two options depending on your experience and interests;
🌈 The Village Option
For locals and regulars, visitors, novices and those who prefer scene bars and familiar locations.
6:00pm – 9:00pm
You’ll usually find us in Via or Velvet on Canal Street.
8:00pm-ish – 11:00pm
Ladies meet up at Iconic Bar on Richmond Street — a relaxed, friendly little bar where you get 10% off drinks just for being trans 🙂 If you want introducing to the group please ask me, if you do not ask I will assume you want privacy and I will not interrupt you.
11:00pm-ish onwards
People usually drift back to Via on Canal Street or to The Goose, New York New York or Centre Stage on Bloom Street.
🏙️ The City Option
For anyone comfortable among the general public or ready to spread their wings with support from those of us experienced at being out and about.
I’ll be in town and/or the suburbs from daytime through to around 2:00am, feel free to message me if you’d like to hang out with me or chat things through. The fixed times and activities are:
Up until 3pm I will be wandering around town or the suburbs shopping, cafe-ing and just generally pootling about.
3:00pm-ish
Christine and I will be in Via on Canal Street.
4:15 to 5:55pm we will go to Affleck & Brown Bar, 4 Hilton Street M4 1NB
6:00pm to 8:00pm
Evening meal which this week will be in the Bay Horse Tavern, 35-37 Thomas Street M4 1NA with 50% off mains, a traditional pub style menu but also with some young and trendy options. I currently have 3 have booked to come so please let me know if you wish to join us so I can add you to the booking and make sure you get in as it is a cosy venue with limited space at that time of evening.
From 8:00pm to 9pm-ish We will move to the Millstone, 67 Thomas Street M4 1LQ
Frpm 9:30pm-ish to 11:00pm-ish we will join those in Iconic Bar.
11:00 pm-ish Fab Cafe (not a cafe but a 70's/80's themed bar with DJ playing Indie of around that time) at 109 Portland Street M1 6DN
A few important notes for the City Option:

Please be on time — past experience has taught me to stick to my schedule. If you’re late, I will have moved on.
We’ll be among the mostly straight general public so please dress in a way that a mother wouldn’t find impossible to explain to her child why we choose to be diverse.
Wear shoes suitable for walking as I’m not into snail-paced wanderings around town.

Come along if you can. It’s a lovely, social evening, a chance to make new friends, new memories and to continue a tradition of trans people meeting in Manchester on weekdays for almost 50 years.
