Trans people together with our cis friends and allies have been meeting and socialising in Manchester on Wednesday evenings since the late 1970s. The tradition continues and everyone is welcome, whether you are completely new, a cross-dresser finding your feet, a trans woman living full time or somewhere in between.
🌈 The Village Option
People often begin meeting during the late afternoon, usually in Via and later Velvet then Iconic Bar from around 8.00pm-ish onwards. Later in the evening people usually drift between Via, The Goose, New York New York, Centre Stage, Brewers and other nearby venues.
If it is your first visit or you are feeling a little nervous, feel free to message me beforehand and I will do my best to help.
🏙️ The City Option
Some of us often spend the afternoon and early evening in the city centre before visiting the Village later. Plans are informal and vary from week to week depending on who is around and what we feel like doing. If you would like to join us, just send me a message and I'll let you know what our plans are.
If you are new to socialising in Manchester, remember there are two quite different options. Some people prefer to spend the whole evening in the Gay Village while others enjoy cafés, restaurants, shops and bars around the city centre before visiting the Village later in the evening, often returning to the city centre afterwards.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message.
If you are a cis man, please arrange to come with one of the ladies or speak to me beforehand so we can make sure your expectations are appropriate. We are a social group, not a dating or sexual activities group.
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy Manchester and have a lovely Wednesday. 💜
