The Manchester ladies social can be found here from 8pm each Wednesday.Iconic is a cosy bar tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Canal Street on the adjacent Richmond Street.
It used to be a hair salon that is now known as a friendly bar with an impressively well-stocked spirits collection, particularly when it comes to gin as they have up to 150 in stock at times). All of their drinks are reaosnably priced.
The staff team and owner are very supportive of our trans community, are chilled and relaxed and everyone is friendly and chatty. You will be very welcome here and not judged in any way.
The Decor is warm and cosy, the music is gentle background music with no DJ's or drag acts most nights though there is ‘Monday night madness’ SpeedQuizzing and Thursday night bingo. On most nights it is a good place to come and sit, relax with friends and have a chat together.
It is one of the nicer bars in the area but also one of the lesser known bars too so be different and give it a try.

Wednesday 26th March Our Manchester Wednesday social evening is centred on meeting between 8pm to 11pm in Iconic Bar at 29 Richmond Street M1 3NB. We get 10% off drinks deal here so if you are a regular visitor ask at the bar for our discount card. Not all are in Iconic bar at the same time as people drift in and out. Ladies present will vary from first time out socially to full time experienced and everything in between, both locals and visitors from around the country. Everyone will be friendly and approachable but if you are alone or new, ask for me when you get here and I will introduce you to everyone. If you come and sit on the edge of the group without asking for me I will assume you want privacy so I won't interrupt you. I am happy to come and meet you at your hotel or car if you need that support. During the daytime I will be wandering around Manchester centre and/or local towns, if you want to join me please just ask. Between 5pm to 8pm I will eat in a bar type place either in Northern Quarter, Deansgate or St Peters Square area, if you want to join me you are welcome. I get asked if the non-LGB places I go to are "trans friendly"..... in my personal experience if we behave and dress sensibly and stay alert to risk we are at no greater risk of violence than that which cisgender women have to manage in their daily lives from VAWG (violence against women and girls) but if you don't want to leave the village you will usually find some of our ladies out in either Velvet or Via. When Iconic closes at 11pm I will leave the village again, you are welcome to join me if you wish, if you prefer to stay in the village then popular locations to go are; The Goose, New York New York, Eva, Via, Oscar's, The Brewers, BarPop .... there is also Centre Stage but as I am am barred from there I obviously will not give it any recommendation so that is your choice. Just a wonderful night out in Manchester with some of the best people you could wish to meet. If you want to get out, feel safe and have a really good time, too, then this event is the one. The amazing Alison does so much to arrange these nights and make everyone feel welcome and safe. |

Really good night. Iconic is a nice venue and the bar staff friendly. Been on a few Wednesdays. Varies in numbers. New girls out for the first time to much more experienced. Everyone friendly sociable. Alison is great at facilitating and helping make sure people are welcomed.
