Woohoooo!! And we're off!

Following the sell-out event in January, you asked, and we listened. So we won't be waiting to bag a bigger venue and it’s Thunderbirds are go at Vout-O-Reenees for the 25th April! Plenty of time to delve into the wardrobe or to treat yourself to a thrilling bout of happy shopping for sparkly, shiny, velvety, stretchy or otherwise delicious things!
And hat a month for dressing up! Spring will be in full swing and dressed up to the nines… all those pinks and blues (hopefully that will include the sky), tender lilacs, and butter yellows.. Whether your thing is primary or pastel, we shall display our bustiers and bustles, our thigh high boots, catsuits and corsets in the customary happy explosion of colour that is the Magic Theatre!

Hosted once again by the statuesque, erudite and supremely talented New Cross Dresser, with DJ Suzi ( Milk, Pride, Bar Wotever) working her happy-dancing magic and guest DJ Sian Mak (Trans+ Radio UK) delighting us with an eclectic riot of 80s treasures with some surprises… Lucky dip live music yet to be confirmed, but whatever it is, it’ll be fun!

What's the Magic Theatre and who is it for?

We're a joyful gathering of dresser-uppers of all romantic inclinations and gender identities for mwah-mwahs, flaunting, flirting, good conversation, and a free-range jig around the dance floor. It’s a place where the understated mingle happily with the extrovert, rubbing along together very nicely in a fest of mutual outfit appreciation! So, we're calling all of you fabulous scream queens, latex-lovers, uniformed folk, dudes, dandies and divas of all imaginable flavours…. Bring your top hats, tiaras, your tutus and tails... come out, come out, wherever you are! You, as always, are welcome here!

Venue: Vout-O-Reenee’s is an adorable quirky members club with an arty twist - think 1920s Berlin meets Soho meets Montmartre.. and it's in a crypt! Splendid!

Located in a quiet area near Tower Hill tube and Tower Gateway DLR, Reenee’s is tucked away, but easily accessible. Entrance is down steps to the basement, so watch those heels!! Drinks prices are reasonable for central London.

There's limited parking just opposite the venue - inside the congestion zone -and nearby at Minories car park, which is just outside the congestion zone and has plenty of spaces.

The NEWCROSSDRESSER is back in action!

Hot on the high heels of my recent rip-roaring appearances at Vout-O-Reenee's, I'm over joyed to return for another night of oversharing and underdressing.

There will be more embellished stories from my past, more singing from an eclectic songbook and more opportunities for you and your friends to participate in the banter and badinage.

I'll be elevated in my platform talons hauts and you may be one of the lucky few to be put a pedestal and celebrated in all your glory.

Joined once again by my glamorous assistant, and the reason I get up in the morning, the absolutely fantabulosa Sydney Dow-Jones.

Our special musical guest will once again be the delightfully talented PJ Rox who will continue to charm us on the ukulele with her self penned songs and cover versions.

For those of you whom I have yet to meet, here is a little about myself as recently described by a wonderful fan:

“The New Cross Dresser (TNCD), a shapely bundle of talents - compere, kabarettist, raconteur, songbird, and host who will delight, amuse and inspire you with their unique evening of entertainment. With a mission of ‘hosiery for all’, TNCD spans the arc between the erudite and the spicy, promising music, laughter, and provocative solutions to age old issues. There are plenty more personas under the dancing feathers of that stylish hatinator to enjoy."

Another Fancy Thursday is crafted as a spirited evening of jubilation and pride in an atmosphere of sartorial flamboyance, self-expression and happy camaraderie. You may well ask ‘Who is The NEWCROSSDRESSER?’
