Description:
Retro Bar is a very friendly and busy mainly gay pub with a great atmosphere. George Court is an alleyway just off the south side of The Strand, in London, and is situated between Superdrug and Halifax. Normal pub hours. There is scope for parking nearby in John Adam street but it is very limited and difficult to access. The bar is a short walk from either Charing Cross or Embankment tube stations.Retro Rendezvous currently meets on Wednesday evenings at 8pm. If you want to eat beforehand, there are places in Villiers Street: Hobson's fish and chips, Lulivo Italian Restaurant, and Five Guys burgers, and a Pizza Express in the Strand, corner of Duncannon Street.

Retro Rendezvous is probably London's best free, purely social, weekly gathering of t-girls, transexuals, and occasional admirers. In a great friendly gay / mixed bar. Just the place to make your debut in a dress and get to know a lovely bunch of people. We are usually downstairs at the back on the left, but there should be a notice on the the board in the entrance. Tables reserved from 8. You may be the first, but don't worry, you won't be alone for long. We drink, we chat, we gossip, we put the world to rights, we may flirt, and we always try to be stylish. I had a really fun night. It was great to meet up with friends and make new. Lovely relaxed pub and was made to feel most welcomed by the staff and other people there. I could have happily sat there the whole night and morning. I will certainly be returning the next chance I can get! |

Lovely to return to Retro after a couple of months and see beautiful faces, familiar and new. Everyone has such a fascinating story. Great place to pick up dressing/hair/make-up tips, too!
