TNH starts off at around 8:00pm in the main bar at Hales Bar. It's usually quite quiet around this time and ideal for a chat and natter with the other girls. Thursday night is Karaoke night which kicks off around 9:00pm which is usually when the bar starts filling up and buzzing with a healthy mix of regular patrons as well as visitors to the town. There is no requirement to sing … just drink up the friendly atmosphere of Harrogate's oldest gas lit bar or sample the range of fine ales on draught and enjoy the evening.
Although Hales bar is renown for being LGBT friendly it welcomes all clientele. The bar usually closes around 12:00 - 12:30am. Most girls then head off down the road to another bar called Montey's where you can drink and dance the night away (other night clubs are available). Free parking is available after 6:00pm on all the streets surrounding the bars.

Ted has now been running his club since 1990 and it is a firmly established venue for T girls and their admirers every Thursday night. He also runs a more chilled out evening on Sundays and Mondays.
Thursday night is well known by the established community but there may be many newcomers who are unaware of one of the premier meeting places in London.

TED’S PLACE
Hidden away in Fulham, west London, is one of the scene’s best known bars.
Walking down the North End Road, you won’t see flashing lights and bouncers outside the door of one of the oldest venues for trans people. In fact, you could walk past the entrance without knowing it was there. For those in the know, there is a big sign in the window in red proclaiming:-
