Official Sparkle Website
The Sparkle Weekend is the world's largest celebration of gender diversity. It is a safe space for anyone who identifies as gender non-conforming, their families, friends, and allies.
The Sparkle Weekend is a festival-style family event featuring live music and entertainment, talks and workshops, and an opportunity for our corporate sponsors, grassroots charities, and trans-run businesses to engage with our visitors.
As well as the main Sparkle event in Sackville Gardens, most people also attend the many clubs, pubs and restaurants in the surrounding gay village in the Canal Street area of Manchester.
The event runs from Friday evening, 26th June, to Sunday afternoon, 28th June.
There is a live stage, food outlets as well as stalls (stalls are daytime Saturday and Sunday only).
Please note that this event is sadly no longer free to attend due to the financial pressures on such events; costs are:
£1 trans hardship ticket
£5 youth ticket
£7.50 standard ticket (18+)
£7.50 accessible ticket
£12.50 allyship ticket
£25 pay it forward ticket

A relaxed social meeting of transgender folk and their partners, friends and families in The Lion Brewery, 104 Guildford Road, Ash, Surrey, GU12 6BT. We eat, drink and chat about anything and everything. We usually also have a quiz.
Meeting times are actually 7:30pm - 10:30 pm (Chix only allows me to show event starting at 7pm)
Although I'll try my best to keep the information up to date, PLEASE, DO NOT RELY SOLELY ON THIS INFORMATION. For the most up-to-date information check https://surreyswans.blogspot.com/p/meetings-in-2025.html
Tia runs the show and maintains its website .We are a friendly bunch, cheeky at times, but always welcoming, and hopefully you won't feel out of place.
The meeting is in a separate room that has its own entrance (marked by a red arrow on the right of the picture) so it's well suited to anyone that feels a bit nervous about taking those first steps. Food and drinks are available without having to go to the main area of the pub. People generally start coming at about 7:30 pm. It is possible to get changed and put on make-up in privacy at the pub, but please allow time if you'd like to change back as the pub closes at 11 pm.
There's an attendance fee of £3 per person. The aim of this is to cover the costs of using the room and also subsidise the cost of events that are organised from time to time.
NO ADMIRERS, PLEASE. This is our safe space.
Parking at the Lion Brewery
If you park at the Lion Brewery, please make sure that you register your car with the parking system.
The easiest way to do this is by using your phone to scan the QR code that’s displayed on the sign in the function room where we meet. This connects to the parking web site where you can enter your car registration number.
As an alternative, you can register your car using the machine in the main bar of the pub.
If you need any help doing this, just ask anyone that's at the meeting on the night.

The club opens at 7.00pm and closes at 2.00am.
Entry £6.00
There is a great bar and a netted off area with a swing for those who want to play.
NB. Ted would prefer a cash bar but can accomodate bank transfers.
PARKING
At the end of November 2025 due to pressure from residents, restrictions will be until 10.00pm (previously 6.30 on single white lines) 7 days a week in zones D, H and F Hammersmith and Fulham council.
This is from the club up to the Talgarth Road (West Ken station), through to Barons court and around Queens Club.Ted says that you can park on the West Kensington Estate, Thaxted Road,Aisgill Avenue'Gibbs Green, plus all roads leading into estate. It's by the ods American Express Hotel 1st turning on the right by the club.
Ted is running a cool night for T Girls and Admirers every Sunday. This to give an extra venue following the closing of the Philbeach Hotel in January 2008. Gosh! Is it that long ago.
