A new queer-led venue, Vada Vada, is named after the Polari word meaning ‘to look’. It's a two-floor spot offering LGBTQ+ events and offerings with club nights, quizzes, cabaret, poetry sessions, daytime workshops, and collective gatherings

China town has a baffling array of quality and varied restaurants, this one is authentic, Chinese family-owned and has a varied and tasty Cantonese-style menu. They have a lot of regular Chinese customers which is always a good sign.
The décor and atmosphere is “Hong Kong style canteen”. Prices are reasonable and food quality is good.
This restaurant is popular so it is mostly always full. They won’t take bookings, it is walk-ins only and it is best to come early if you want to avoid queuing outside for a little while to get in at busy times.
Staff are always friendly, efficient and fast to take orders, they will serve your order quickly and be attentive when you need them.

Just off the west of St Peters Square and about a 9 minute walk from the village area in sensible shoes.
The menu is typical pub food at pub prices that are very reasonable for the city centre, weekdays there is a £6 offer on some limited main courses, drinks are usual chain pub choices but at fair prices.
They can sometimes be short staffed but the staff working are always hard working, efficient and kind.
The atmosphere is usually calm and much quieter than most city centre bars where entitled and rude people often feel the need to scream conversations at each other across their table.

Wednesday 24th June Trans people, together with our cis friends and allies, have been meeting and socialising midweek in Manchester since the late 1970s. That tradition is still going strong. Whether you are completely new to this, a cross-dresser finding your feet, a full-time trans woman or somewhere in between, you are welcome to join us and find what works for you. The Sparkle Weekend is the world's largest celebration of gender diversity. It is a safe space for anyone who identifies as gender non-conforming, their families, friends, and allies. The Sparkle Weekend is a festival-style family event featuring live music and entertainment, talks and workshops, and an opportunity for our corporate sponsors, grassroots charities, and trans-run businesses to engage with our visitors. As well as the main Sparkle event in Sackville Gardens, most people also attend the many clubs, pubs and restaurants in the surrounding gay village in the Canal Street area of Manchester. The event runs from Friday evening, 26th June, to Sunday afternoon, 28th June....
